Piano Oak Coasters

Handmade in my workshop in Glasgow, these quality coasters started life as the lid of a broken piano. Made from solid oak and over a hundred years old, there was enough to make two sets of four coasters and no more.

I backed them with superior quality cork which is 5mm thick and I scorched the tops with a blow torch to show off the grain and flames in the wood. The final step was to sand them silky smooth and coat them three times with Osmo Hardwax Oil which is food safe and also provides a really robust finish that will take the heat and spillages and protect them from scratches too.

They're chunky, super smooth, made from high quality reclaimed oak and are totally unique. Just wipe them clean (no dishwashers!) when you need to and they'll last you for many years to come. They really do look quite special, only two sets in the world.
